- On June 9, 2004, more than 130 alumni, parents, and friends from the D.C. and Baltimore areas attended the Plutzik Series Literary Evening with special guests, Cornelius Eady and Elizabeth Spires. One of America's oldest and most prestigious continuous literary reading programs, the Plutzik series was founded at the University of Rochester in 1962, in honor of the life and poetic career of Hyam Plutzik (1911-1962), Deane Professor of Poetry and Rhetoric at the University.
