Engineering-related societies
- Rochester Engineering Society: As the President, I had direct oversight of all activities of the organization including the creation of a monthly publication, and the administration of professional awards and scholarships. I had increased the overall number of corporate memberships during one of the most challenging fiscal times in the organization’s history as we navigated through the Covid-19 crisis. As the Executive Board member, I had direct responsibility for the administration, investment, monitoring, and distribution of the assets of the organization ($250k).

4. 2nd Vice President (2017)
5. Director and Board Member (2017-present)Founded in 1897, RES is a multi-disciplinary society uniting diverse disciplines to enhance professional development, foster excitement in math and science for the next generation of leaders, and improve communities where members live. The Society supports individual engineers, local affiliates of national engineering societies, schools of engineering, and professional firms. RES provides many opportunities to learn, to build relationships and to contribute to the community.
- ABET: In 2023, I became a member of the Engineering Accreditation Commission and ABET Team Leader. The EAC is responsible for reviewing all accredited engineering programs and making the final accreditation decisions for each program. Its mission is to foster the systematic pursuit of improvement in the quality of engineering education that satisfies the needs of its constituencies in a dynamic and competitive environment. As a ABET Team Chair I will manage and orchaestrate teams of program evaluators in conducting accreditation program reviews of engineering programs.I have served as an ABET Program Evaluator (PEV) in Biomedical Engineering for several years. I have evaluated program materials, visited campuses and participated in accreditation decisions for several prestigious programs in Biomedical Engineering across North and South America.
ABET is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization that accredits college and university programs in the disciplines of applied science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology. ABET accredits over 3,100 programs at more than 660 colleges and universities in 24 countries. ABET provides specialized, programmatic accreditation that evaluates an individual program of study, rather than evaluating an institution as a whole.
- MedTech Association: I have served as one of the only engineers on the Board of Directors for several years. In this capacity, I have established relationships with biotechnology c-suite corporate leaders from across upstate NY. I have worked on and have led highly diverse cross functional teams from within all disciplines in the biotechnology industry to develop activities and events for CEOs, business development, legal and intellectual property, quality and engineering staff of regional biotech organizations. Medtech also has an advocacy role in NYS and provides active support from elected and appointed leaders in government, businesses and the community. My role on the Board has allowed me to stay in touch with hot technologies from across the state and in tune with important political issues (medical device tax) that are critical to the industry. As a Board member, I have also had a fiduciary duty for the administration, investment, monitoring, and distribution of the assets of the organization.MedTech is a not-for-profit entity that connects New York State’s Bio/Med industry through collaboration, education and advocacy. It is an active association of over 100 pharmaceutical, biotech and medical technology companies, their suppliers and service providers and research universities.
