African Diaspora/Gender/Latin America and the Caribbean
The Department of History at the University of Rochester invites applications for a tenure track position at the assistant professor level in the history of the African diaspora, with a preference for candidates with expertise in the history of gender, Latin America and/or the Caribbean.
The department has a long tradition of excellence of scholarship in the fields of African history, the Atlantic world, African-American studies, and the economics of slavery. We are building on that tradition as we develop our programs in the direction of global history. The department also has a close relationship with the university's Frederick Douglass Institute for African and African-American Studies, a center that sponsors graduate and undergraduate scholarship, and pre- and post-doctoral fellowships. Late Medieval/Early Modern Europe
The Department of History at the University of Rochester invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position in the history of late medieval/early modern Europe. In accordance with our new emphasis on global and transnational history, we are particularly interested in candidates whose work incorporates broad perspectives (chronological, geographical, or otherwise).
The department has an internationally recognized Ph.D. program with strengths in many fields, including British, German and Russian history, the Enlightenment, and medieval France and England. We are expanding and transforming our graduate and undergraduate programs in the direction of global and transnational history.
