Assistant Professor(s)
The Edmund A. Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Rochester invites applicants for appointments in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Applicants at the assistant professor level are preferred, but exceptional candidates at all ranks will be considered. One appointment will be in the area of opto-mechanical systems, precision engineering or optical design with manufacturing; this appointment is with the Institute of Optics. The second appointment will be in the area of biosolid or biofluid mechanics and interact with existing programs in the Biomedical Engineering Department which will share this appointment.
Qualifications:
Both faculty appointments are expected to provide leadership as independent, extramurally funded investigators and to participate in departmental teaching programs. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to develop new graduate and undergraduate courses which will be shared between departments.
