Experimental High Energy Density Laser-Plasma Physics

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Rochester announces a faculty opening in Experimental High Energy Density Plasma Physics, with a preference for candidates whose interests synergize with the unique opportunities offered through the Laboratory for Laser Energetics. Candidates with interests in Laser-Plasma Physics, Inertial Confinement Fusion, High Energy Laboratory Astrophysics, and/or other areas of High Energy Density Physics are encouraged to apply. The Department has a strong program in astrophysical plasmas and the Laboratory for Laser Energetics is a unique ICF facility that includes the OMEGA60 beam and OMEGA EP 4-beam Petawatt laser system. Candidates for an assistant professor or a more senior tenured appointment will be considered.
