Race and Ethnic Politics

The Department of Political Science at the University of Rochester invites applications for positions starting July 1, 2010, at either the tenure-track or, for exceptional candidates, at the tenured level. We are searching in a number of fields this year, but we have a special interest in American race and ethnic politics.

Qualifications:

We invite applications from candidates working in any area of African-American politics, Asian-American politics, Latina/Latino-American politics, Native American Politics, or other areas in American race and ethnic politics, who combine a strong theoretical focus with systematic empirical analysis.

Comparative Politics

The position is open to any geographic specialization; however, we are looking for candidates whose research is amenable to cross-national application, quantitative testing, and/or the application of rational choice theory, and we are especially looking for candidates whose work is on democratization or the politics of development.

Comparative Political Economy

Applied Political Economy

We understand this field in broad terms, including those working in macro political economy, those testing empirical models derived from formal theory, and those studying the political and economic determinants and consequences of policymaking.
