Change of Address
Be sure to inform the Graduate Studies Office when changes occur with your home mailing addresses. Term billing addresses can be changed at the Bursar's office. Doing so will help to guarantee prompt delivery of course schedules, registration materials and grade reports.
The student's signature is needed for a change of address; therefore, requests cannot be taken over the telephone. This policy is enforced to protect the privacy of student grades. Requests for change of address can be made in person at the Graduate Studies Office, by written request, or by fax provided the request bears the signature of the student.
- To request a change of address include:
- Name and date
- UR ID number
- Former address and phone number
- New address and phone number
- Type of change (indicate all that apply)
- In-Term/Local
- Delete CPU Box
- Out-of-Term
- Billing
Enrollment Verification
Graduate students needing verification or confirmation of their enrollment status with the University for health insurance, student loan deferment or credit purposes may request that a verification be sent from the Graduate Studies Office.
Please note that enrollment can only be verified for the actual term in which a student is registered. Verification of future enrollment or class registration cannot be issued until actual registration occurs.
Verification Requests can be made in person at the Graduate Studies Office (216 - 222 Lattimore), by written request, student access or by fax. The fax number of the Office of Graduate Studies is (585) 273-2943.
- When requesting verifications include:
- Name while attending the University
- Current name, if different
- University ID/Social Security Number
- Classification (Graduate)
- Daytime Phone Number
- Date needed by (Minimum 1 week turnaround)
- To be picked up or mailed (if mailed, include your mailing address)
- For enrollment include this additional information:
- Period to be verified
- Anticipated date of graduation
- For degree verification:
- Contact the Office of the University Registrar for official grade transcript.
Loan Deferment
Graduate students needing a loan deferment need to bring their deferment form(s) that they receive from their lender to the Graduate Studies Office, 216 Lattimore Hall.
Turn around time can be at least one week for completion of deferment forms during peak registration periods.
