ESSAY:

All applicants write a short essay (200 words), which will be a major criterion for selection into the internship program. The ability to write clearly and concisely is a critical asset. Your essay is read by the Rochester faculty who will review your application to the program, and by your prospective internship supervisors. If your internship is to be taken in a language other than English, please write the essay in that language.

In a short essay (no more than a page) please explain why you would like to do an international internship. You may include information such as how previous coursework or experience relates to the internship field you have selected (for example, politics, business, health, etc.). Other details might include prior travel or study abroad experience (if relevant), or information about your career plans. You may choose to attach a resume or a list of your activities.

STUDENT AUTHORIZATION:
I am applying to an Internships in Europe program and authorize the University of Rochester to issue a transcript to my home school after my program of study. (The University of Rochester provides transcripts for all courses and internships taken by its students.) However, to ensure acceptance of academic credit, I realize that I must discuss my proposed program of study with the appropriate official of the college or university I expect to attend upon my return. Additionally, I understand that it is my responsibility to discuss the coursework and internship with my departmental adviser, and to secure written approval.
