Held at the University of Rochester, the six week long summer program consists of intense academics along with extracurricular activities designed to prepare students for their college experience. Students take part in instructional courses, college visits, academic advisement, SAT preparation, and team building exercises.
Curriculum
All students are required to participate in a science, math and writing courses. Students are able to select the science of their interest and are placed in a math and writing course based on ability.

Through a series of workshops students are introduced the components of the SAT which include math, writing and reading comprehension. Students learn test taking strategies, practice vocabulary and take mock exams.

Each week students have the opportunity to visit an institution of higher learning to meet with admissions counselors and tour the campus. Colleges visited include:
Advisement
Advisement sessions encourage dialogue between students and Upward Bound staff with discussions based on time management, presentation skills, minorities on college campuses, and college preparation.
