Learning Assistance Services

Welcome to Learning Assistance Services (LAS) at the University of Rochester.

LAS is a resource available to all students in the College. All kinds of students with all kinds of GPAs and academic records make use of LAS programs. We work with strong students who wish to become even better, as well as with students who have not yet tapped into the strategies needed to succeed in college, and everyone in between.

We offer an extensive study group and Workshop program, individual study skills counseling, study skills workshops and a study skills course, and disability support.

We are located in 107 Lattimore Hall on the River Campus. To make an appointment or to learn more about LAS, stop by our offices, call us at (585) 275-9049, or send an email via the Contact Us link on the left.

We look forward to hearing from you! In the meantime, check out the "Study Tip of the Week" below.

Study Tip of the Week

It is no good to compare yourself with others; but it is rewarding to compare yourself with your own self and evaluate your own success and failure.

We definitely learn from others, but we should use what we learn from people in a constructive way. Instead of comparing your success with others', focus on your 'self', discover the 'you' that is inside you and do not refrain from making mistakes.
