Orientation 2008 Resources

During the month of June you should have received a mailing from the Orientation Office. This packet contains important academic information that will need to be returned to us in a timely fashion. We will place electronic copies of this mailing on this page when they become available.

*Attention:

CHM 131—Lab Lecture is worth 1 credit, not 5 credits. CHM 131 Chemical Concepts, Systems, and Practices I is worth 4 credits. You will receive a total of 5 credits for taking CHM 131 with the lab lecture.

WRT 105 Availability—At this point, most of the pre-registration slots for WRT 105 have been filled. Students who participate in the writing placement process and are advised to take the writing course in the fall will be pre-registered into either WRT 105 or 105E through the Writing Program throughout the summer. In addition, limited spaces will be available for those who prefer to wait until Orientation to register.

Because half of the WRT 105 spaces are offered in the fall and half in the spring, many students will need to wait until spring to take WRT 105, when many of the fall courses will be offered again.

If a WRT 105 or 105E course of interest is closed, please do not contact the course instructor for a PIN. All wait lists for closed WRT 105/105E courses are maintained in the Writing Program main office. If you would like to be put on a wait list, please email your full name and the course of interest to the Writing Program at CWP@mail.rochester.edu or call 273-3584. Wait lists take effect when online registration ends, on Monday, September 8 at midnight. In the meantime, keep checking enrollments until pre-registration closes on July 27 and once registration reopens on August 29 in case an opening becomes available.

The deadline for adding a WRT 105 or 105E course is Tuesday, September 16.
