Alexander Styk , violin

Alexander Styk is a 15-year-old violin prodigy from Pittsford, NY, and a winner of three PHSR Scholarships, three Fortissimo! competitions, and many other awards. In 2005 he performed as a soloist with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and in 2006 he attended the Summit Music Festival with Mikail Kopelman. Currently, he studies violin with Patricia Sunwoo and piano with Elinor Freer. He is a High Honor Roll student at Mendon High School, and a member of a scholarship quartet group at Hochstein School of Music and Dance. Alex speaks perfect Polish and enjoys traveling, swimming, and skiing. Alexander is a Life Boy Scout.

 

 

 

Oleksandra Yurchenko is on the faculty of the Hochstein School of Music and Dance, teaching piano. A graduate of the Music Conservatory in Lviv, Ukraine, Yurchenko has played in many concerts and competitions and is very active as a collaborative pianist.
