Debt Collector presents 48 hours in the life of Lucek Bohme, a provincial debt collector. He is the best debt collector in the Silesian town of Wałbrzych, Poland. His job makes him feel powerful – he collects debts from anyone who owes, including the destitute. The law is sacred to him, but somewhere on the way he forgets that the law is made for men, not vice versa. His self-confidence takes a blow when he is confronted with an incident that has a lasting effect on him. For the first time in his life, he begins to give some serious thought to what he does and seeks redemption.
