Mikolaj Palosz , cellist specializing in contemporary music performance and improviser, graduated from the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw with Prof. Kazimierz Michalik and Andrzej Bauer. Since 2003, he has appeared at the annual Warsaw Autumn Contemporary Music Festival (www.warsaw-autumn.art.pl). In 2003, he held a scholarship from the Polish Minister of Culture. In 2002, he won 2 nd prize and a special prize at the 5 th Penderecki International Contemporary Chamber Music Competition in Krakow, Poland. In 1997, he won a prize at the 1 st International Lutoslawski Cello Competition in Warsaw, Poland (www.lutoslawski-cello.art.pl). As a member of Cello Octet Conjunto Ibérico (www.cello-octet.com), a group based in the Netherlands led by Prof. Elias Arizcuren, he has toured Europe, Brazil, and Mexico. Together with Bartlomiej Zajkowski he forms the Balosz/flavio duo investigating music and live electronics. He is an associate member of the contemporary chamber music ensemble Kwartludium (www.kwartludium.com). As an improvising musician, he appeared with Noël Akchote, Phil Minton, and Le Quan Ninh during the Plain Music Concert Series (www.plain.pl) organized in Warsaw.
Oleksandra Yurchenko is an accompanist at the Hochstein School of Music and Dance as well as a pianist and organist at the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Webster, NY. After graduating from Academy of Music in Lwow, Ukraine, she worked as a Professor of Accompanying there. As a collaborative pianist, Oleksandra Yurchenko has performed in many concerts and competitions and is a recipient of numerous awards for best accompanist (e.g. Dresden 1998, 2001, Koburg 2001, Yalta 2003).
