The Center for the Study of African-American Politics (CSAAP) at the University of Rochester, in cooperation with the Department of Political Science and the Frederick Douglass Institute for African and African-American Studies, is pleased to announce the 2008-2009 pre-doctoral or post-doctoral fellowship in African-American politics. The fellowship is open to the study of any political phenomena related to African-American life. Applications from any social science discipline will be considered. Fellows devote most of their time to research and present their work at one seminar each in the Department and the Institute. Postdoctoral fellows teach one course each semester. Predoctoral fellows receive a stipend of $23,000 and post-doctoral fellows receive a stipend of $40,000. Postdoctoral applicants who have not yet completed requirements for the Ph.D. should describe plans for completing the requirements by August 2008. The fellowship period is from September 1, 2008- May 31, 2009.
