IR/PSC 262 Globalization Past and PresentPolitical Science Field: Comparative Politics, International Relations International Relations Track: Political Economy and Development (B), Governance of Nations (C) Typically offered every year This course examines the implications of economic globalization for domestic and international politics. Emphasis will be given to the lessons of 19th-century globalization for politically relevant issues of the present such as the effect of greater factor mobility on income distribution, economic growth, political coalitions, policy-setting autonomy, and the viability of the welfare state. Classes will feature a short introductory lecture followed by active discussion of the week's topic(s) and readings.
