This Course is a brief introduction to voter participation in elections and the manner in which U.S. elections are conducted. Special attention will be paid to election administration. It is also open to students from Roberts Wesleyan College and Monroe Community College who are participating in the Monroe County Election Fellows Program. Total enrollment is limited to 15 students. The course will meet half the semester (Jan 18-March 1), one night a week. Students will be expected to read a moderate amount of material for each session. Grading will be based on class participation and one or more short reports. It is also likely that students will analyze a survey to be completed by student election inspectors.
