Adding a Links Panel
Problem
You want to add a list of related links inside a small, gray inset panel, and you want to use it on more than one of your pages.
Solution
In the standard template, a small, gray links panel that contains a list of related links can be added to the page.
This links panel must first be created as a separate block in the WCMS, and then it can be inserted into one or more web pages. The block must be stored in a special folder named "links_panel_blocks," which is nested inside the "_content" folder.
Creating the links panel:
- In the Asset Tree at the left, select the folder at _content/links_panel_blocks
- Click on "New" in the top menu bar, and select Links Panel Block
- Type the text for the Panel Title
- Type the text for the label and the title attribute for the link
- The target for the link can be either another page within the WCMS, and external URL to a page on any other web site, or a file that you already uploaded to the WCMS
- To select another page within the WCMS, click the Browse icon next to "Link to Internal Page," and then select the page you want
- To link to a page on another web site, type its complete URL in the field labeled "Link to External URL"
- To link to a file that you already uploaded to the WCMS, click on the Browse icon next to "Link to Internal File," and then select the file you want
- To add another link, click the small plus (+) sign
- Change the System Name to a name that you prefer
- Click the Submit button
Adding the links panel to a page:
- Select the page that will get the links panel
- Click the Edit tab
- Scroll down to "Links Panel Block," which is inside the Page Content section
- Click the Browse icon
- In the browser that pops open, select the links panel block that you want to insert
- Click Confirm
- Click the Submit button
