Doctoral Degree Commencement Ceremony

The Doctoral Degree Commencement will be held on Saturday, May 19, in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre, located in downtown Rochester. This ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. for all doctoral candidates from the College of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering, Eastman School of Music, School of Medicine and Dentistry, Margaret Warner Graduate School of Education, School of Nursing, and William E. Simon School of Business Administration.

Academic Dress

Candidates can pick up their regalia beginning Monday, May 14, at the bookstore where the order was placed. Academic attire is required for graduates participating in the Commencement ceremony. Please note: Doctoral graduates will not be given hoods when picking up academic regalia. The hood for the Doctoral graduates will be presented on stage at Commencement.

Arrival Times

Only candidates who have returned their commencement participation information form (blue card) with their regalia order form can participate in the ceremony. Doctoral Degree candidates must arrive at the Great Hall of the Eastman School no later than 8:30 a.m. to allow sufficient time for robing and assembly of processional columns. Candidates will be lined up in alpha order within their degree (Ph.D., D.M.A., Ed.D., D.N.P.).

Anyone arriving after 8:30 a.m. will be placed at the end of the line and will receive a blank diploma. This policy will be strictly enforced.

Guests may enter through the main entrance to Eastman Theatre. Doors open at 9 a.m. for guests. Tickets are not required for this ceremony.

Parking

Parking is available for this event in the East End Garage on the corner of East and Scio Streets.
