 | James Undercofler has been appointed to act as director of the Eastman School. Undercofler replaces Robert Freeman, who recently left Eastman to head the New England Conservatory of Music.
Undercofler was appointed associate director for academic affairs and professor of music education at Eastman in 1995. Since his arrival, he has directed the innovative educational process, Eastman Initiatives, and has strengthened partnerships between Eastman and various arts and educational organizations in the community. Undercofler received his bachelor's degree from the Eastman School and his master's degree from Yale University. He is the founding director of the Minnesota Center for Arts Education and was the director of the Educational Center for the Arts in New Haven. |
