The revised policy provides for employees who take military leave to retain in their banks all vacation and floating holiday time accumulated prior to the outset of their leave. Employees may exercise the option of requesting payout of their vacation and floating holiday balances before the leave begins, if they wish to do so.

Host families needed
The Rotary Student Exchange Program is sponsoring students from Germany, ages 16 through 18. Each host family would host for two or three months, from mid-August 1997 through July 1998.
What is going on in health care
The University is presenting part one of a three-part educational series on managed care for clinical faculty and staff and administrative support staff with jobs that require health-care service interaction, such as billing and financial review. Part one of the series, which features Leo Brideau, general director of Strong Memorial Hospital, Ray Mayewski, medical director of clinical services, and Robert Panzer, medical director of StrongCare, will be offered on July 18, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., in Whipple Auditorium, Medical Center.
CPR classes
Classes in cardiopulmonary resuscitation will be offered once again to the University community by the Multidiscipline Lab. Cost is $40 for the original course for faculty and staff, $47 for guests, and free for medical students. The refresher course is $33 for members of the University community, $38

Summer Institute Lecture Series
The Multimedia Center and University Computing Center are hosting an informational Summer Institute Lecture Series. All classes are free and open to the University community. All classes will be held in Room G113, Rush Rhees Library and no registration is necessary. Call x3-5009 for more information.
Military Leave of Absence changes
Please note that a revised Military Leave of Absence Policy, personnel policy number 336, has recently been distributed to all department directors and administrators. Recipients of the revised policy are asked to provide a copy to all policy-manual holders in their areas, and to communicate the changes described in the cover memo to all supervisory staff.
