Credit union hosts information meetings

University faculty and staff should have received invitations to attend one of several on-site meetings sponsored by Advantage Federal Credit Union (FCU). At the meetings, to be held in early October, they will have an opportunity to learn about the benefits of membership in this credit union, which has served the University of Rochester faculty and staff since 1985. The invitations being mailed out will list all scheduled meeting dates, locations, and times.

Credit union officials say that national surveys show that credit unions rank higher than other financial institutions for "consumer satisfaction," and that one in every four Americans is a member /owner of a credit union. "At a time when many other commercial institutions are raising fees and cutting services, the savings offered through membership in Advantage can be an extremely powerful tool to manage the family budget", said Charlene Kaforey, president of Advantage FCU. "The on-site sessions are designed to help you learn the benefits of credit union membership and to answer your questions."

A not-for-profit, co-operative financial institution locally owned by its 15,000 members, Advantage passes along income to the membership in the form of savings. These savings take the form of extremely competitive rates on loans and savings products, and special events such as discounted auto loan rates.

Advantage staff members promise a fast pace, light refreshments and door prizes for those attending the fall meetings. Family members are welcome to attend. For those who don't want to wait for a meeting, an Advantage branch office is located at 2024 West Henrietta Road in the Brighton Campus Park, just south of Interstate 390, or call 454-5900 for a telephone service representative.

Fall meetings are scheduled as follows:
