ResNet, the University's computer network to residence halls, has connected over 1,000 users for the 1997-98 academic year. To mark the milestone, Jennifer Hardman, above, a freshman biology major, won a random drawing of those connected. The prize: a jar full of 1,000 M&Ms. Hardman is using ResNet to keep up with on-line classes and assignments, and admits to spending time on network games. Lisa Brown, ResNet manager, sees 1,000 as significant because it represents more than one-third of potential ResNet users on campus. Many universities at a similar stage of connecting residents often take most of the year to reach the one-third mark.
