About 35 faculty members here received an anonymous anti-Semitic essay last month. The essay was also mailed to at least six other universities, "the fourth such mass mailing in the past two years," according to the Chronicle of Higher Education. Titled Anti-Semitism--Found, the eight-page essay was sent to faculty at Lehigh and Stanford Universities; the University of California campuses at Berkeley, Irvine, and San Diego; and the University of Pennsylvania. "Investigators have no clues as to who might have sent the essay, and they have found no pattern among the recipients, some of whom are Jewish and some of whom are not," the Chronicle said.
Anyone receiving such a mailing at the University should call Security, x5-3340.
