The agency did so after the University said it would not be willing to accept the ticketing fees, which would have totaled in the tens of thousands of dollars annually. Niagara Frontier Travel and Town and Country Travel will continue as preferred vendors.
Van Zile representatives said they would start imposing a ticketing fee due to the airline industry's decision to lower travel agency commissions.
Since the University will not reimburse individuals for ticketing fees, faculty and staff are asked to use the other preferred agencies. (Niagara Frontier Travel can be reached at 244-9300, and Town and Country Travel at 381-2850.) Those two agencies will continue to have access to the University's advance ticket purchasing system and will be able to use USAirway discounts for University travel.
