Time to prepare for daughters' day

Take Our Daughters to Work Day, an annual event promoted by the Ms. Foundation for Women, will take place at various institutions around the country on Thursday, April 24, 1997. This day focuses on the need for girls between the ages of 9 and 15 to learn about the career and life options available to women.

With that spirit in mind, the University encourages individual departments, at their own discretion, to sponsor programs to celebrate the day. When considering plans, please note that the following guidelines apply:

Prior approval must be obtained from the appropriate dean or director
Activities are not permitted in patient-care areas
Programs prohibit the use of chemicals or heavy equipment

Anyone interested in opening a program to other parts of the University community, should submit information about the event to the Currents office no later than March 31. For more information, contact Doris Robinson, Office of Human Resources, x3-4644.
