Golden Key inducts 106 members here

The Golden Key National Honor Society chapter at the University held its annual membership induction on March 4. Academically superior undergraduates in all fields of study were initiated into the society. Each of the new 106 members was recognized at the reception with a certificate of membership.

Scholarships in the amount of $100 were awarded to the outstanding junior and senior initiates. Tanya Klebe is this year’s junior recipient. Klebe is majoring in mechanical engineering and carries a 4.0 grade point average. She is a member of Tau Beta Pi and is a member of UCAA All Conference Academic Team.

Jorge Rodriguez is the senior recipient. Rodriguez is majoring in philosophy, religion and neuroscience, and carries a 3.95 grade point average. He is a member of the Spanish and Latin Students’ Organization and is president of the Religion and Classics Undergraduate Council.

Selected for honorary membership in the society and recognized at the ceremony were Curt Cadorette, associate professor of religion and classics; Alan Dietsche, senior lecturer in the biology department; David Harman, professor of music; Melanie Manion, associate professor of political science; and Nowell Boyler, teacher of American Sign Language. Honorary members are selected based on their contributions to the community, the university and its students.
