Events planned for daughter's day

Departments across the University will once again take part in Take Our Daughters to Work Day, on Thursday, April 24. This annual event promoted by the Ms. Foundation for Women focuses on the need for girls between the ages of 9 and 15 to learn about the career and life options available to women.

On this day, most departments will informally develop events and programs for their own employees and their children. Some departments, however, will host events open to the entire University community. Among those events:

The Medical Center Administrator's Group will provide tours of various areas in the Medical Center, such as Clinical Microbiology, the Computer Lab, Miner Library, and the Blood Bank. For more information and to register for a tour, call x5-2124.

The Computer Science Department will offer demonstrations of current work on computers and robots that can see, move, and manipulate objects, and converse in English. Enrollment is limited to 20; registration is required. For more information, call x5-5478.
