Registrar, admissions, others to relocate
The River Campus admissions, registrar, bursar, and work and career development offices have begun the process of moving, to literally put the undergraduate admissions office in attractive quarters at the "front door" of the campus--in the Administration Building. They also will cluster the bursar's, financial aid, and work and career development offices in one location closer to the academic center of campus, for the convenience of enrolled students, and permit a closer integration of the registrar's office and related academic support programs in Lattimore Hall.
Moving began in mid-June and the sequence of moves is as follows:
- In mid-June, the College's Center for Work and Career Development Office (along with the job boards) moved from the Administration Building to the former Asia Library in Rush Rhees Library as a temporary location, until the end of the fall 1997 semester.
- In mid-June, renovations to the Administration Building began and the registrar's office moved from the Administration Building to the second floor of Lattimore Hall. (In addition, the lobby of Lattimore Hall will be renovated to create a one-stop academic services counter that will combine the front-end services of the College's Center for Academic Support and the Registrar's Office for Undergraduates.)
- In late July, the bursar's office moved from the Administration Building to a remodeled area in the current admissions-financial aid suite of Meliora Hall. This will create a financial services center in Meliora Hall that will help the bursar's and financial aid offices coordinate services to students.
- The admissions office will move from Meliora Hall to the Administration Building by the end of October.
- In December, the Center for Work and Career Development will move from its temporary quarters at Rush Rhees Library to Meliora Hall.
