On occasion, the lot may also be reserved by River Campus departments that make prior arrangements with Parking Services.
The Admissions Office "leases" the lot, which is adjacent to Todd Union, for use by prospective students from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays. When housed in Meliora Hall, the Admissions Office had "leased" the lot adjacent to that building in order to accommodate visitors to campus.
The gate at Todd Lot will be raised during other than reserved hours as noted above. However, any car found illegally parked in the lot during reserved hours will be subject to an immediate "wheel-lock." The owner of the vehicle will pay a $25 violation fee for parking illegally in a reserved area, a $50 wheel-lock fee, plus any other outstanding parking fines.
"In order to keep the lot clear for admissions purposes, we were keeping the gate down at all times. We know that many were unhappy about that," said Glen Sicard, director of parking services. "Now it will be available for other parkers on off hours. The automatic wheel-lock for illegal parkers is our only practical way to ensure that lot will remain available for prospective students during the hours it's reserved."
Any questions on the Todd Lot parking policy should be directed to Parking Services' River Campus Office at x5-3983.
