Paprocki, Greene take on new roles

Ronald Paprocki, vice president for budgets and institutional planning, has been named senior vice president for financial affairs and planning. In a related move, Richard Greene, executive vice president and treasurer, has been named vice president for investments and treasurer.

In a newly established position, Paprocki will be responsible for financial operations as well as budgeting and planning. He will oversee the finance office (including the offices of the controller, accounts payable, financial reporting and analysis, payroll and employee record center, and sponsored program accounting), internal audit office, bursar's office, and gift office, in addition to his current supervisory responsibilities for the office of institutional studies and the budget office. He will continue to oversee facilities planning.

Greene will focus on University investments, the endowment, debt financings, and other external financial relationships.

The University also is beginning a search for a vice provost and chief information officer, who will assume oversight responsibility for the data center and for administrative computing services, which, respectively, report to Paprocki and Greene.

"Ron Paprocki is assuming an important role for the University, one that puts him at the center of the kind of complex financial structure needed for a diverse, multifaceted institution such as ours," said President Thomas Jackson.

"Working with the trustees, Dick Greene has ably overseen endowment strategies that have worked well for the University," Jackson said. "But we believe that the increasingly complex management of investments demands even greater attention, and this reorganization will allow him to devote his energies to this crucial task.

"I appreciate both Ron Paprocki's and Dick Greene's help in this restructuring of responsibilities," Jackson said.

Paprocki joined the University administration in 1969, serving in a number of positions in the College and then in central administration.

Greene joined the University in 1986, after having served as treasurer and chief financial officer of the Carnegie Corporation of New York, a private foundation.
