Search begins for sports & rec director

Paul Burgett, vice president and dean of students, has announced the formation of a search committee to help identify a new director of sports and recreation.

Jeff Vennell has indicated that the current school year will be his last in that position.

The committee, composed of faculty, students, staff, and alumni, will be chaired by Richard Aslin, professor of brain and cognitive science and former dean of the College.

Other committee members are Andrea Golden, women's lacrosse coach; Molly Hayes Baker '84, associate director of admissions; Mark Kreydt '88, football coach; Roger Lathan '54, vice president emeritus; Mike Neer, men's basketball coach; Lisa Norwood '85, associate director, College Center for Academic Support, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences; Harvey Palmer, professor of chemical engineering and faculty representative to NCAA; Jessica Svatek '99, senior captain, varsity volleyball, and member of the student-athlete advisory committee; Andre TerWeele '99, men's crew, and business manager, Club Sports Council; and Mary-Frances Winters '73, '82 (Simon), former trustee.
