Nan Johnson, director of the Susan B. Anthony University Center, has received the Trailblazer Award presented by the Greater Rochester Area Branch of the American Association of University Women.

Richard Greene, vice president for investments and treasurer, has been elected treasurer by the Memorial Art Gallery board of managers.

Robert Hoekelman has received the 1998 Medical Education Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Hoekelman is professor and chair emeritus of the Department of Pediatrics and Children's Hospital at Strong.

Ralph Jozefowicz has received the American Neurological Association Distinguished Neurology Teacher award. Jozefowicz, the second recipient of the award, is an associate professor of neurology and medicine, associate chair for neurology education programs, and director of the neurology residency program in the Medical School.

Duncan Moore, who is Rudolf and Hilda Kingslake Professor of Optical Engineering, was inducted into the National Academy of Engineering in October.

Emil Wolf, Wilson Professor of Optical Physics and professor of optics, was honored in September when the journal Pure and Applied Optics produced a special issue filled with papers on physical optics and coherence, dedicated to Wolf in honor of his 75th birthday.
