Speakers include Rochester faculty members, as well as scholars from political science departments at other universities. All seminars are scheduled from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Fridays in Room 329, Harkness Hall on the River Campus.
Speakers and their topics are: Paul Huth, associate professor at the University of Michigan, on "Reconsidering the Democratic Peace: Domestic Politics and International Conflict over Disputed Territories in the 20th Century," March 27; Randall Stone, assistant professor of political science at the University, on "The International Monetary Fund and the Post-Communist Tradition: Reputation, Bargaining, & Institutions," April 3; Sonja Amadae, a doctoral candidate at University of California at Berkeley, on "William Riker's Legacy in the Making," April 17; Robert Lieberman, assistant professor at Columbia University, on "Race and American Politics," May 1; G. Bingham Powell, professor of political science, and Georg Vanberg, a doctoral candidate in political science, both in the polticial science department at the University, on "Electoral Laws, Disproportionality and the Left-Right Dimension: Implications for Two Visions of Democracy," May 8.
