Coming up in National Poetry Month

Celebrating the Work of Hyam Plutzik
Thursday, April 9
5:45 p.m., Welles-Brown Room, Rush Rhees Library
Readings and reminiscences of Hyam Plutzik, a writer and poet who was Deane Professor of Poetry and Rhetoric at the University, will be given by William Heyen, SUNY Brockport poet and book collector, and Jarold Ramsey, professor emeritus in the Department of English.

Tuesday, April 14
8 p.m., Hoyt Hall
Pulitzer Prize-winner Graham will read from her work, which includes seven collections of poetry. The New Yorker calls her the most celebrated American poet of her generation.

Thursday, April 16
4 p.m., Welles-Brown Room, Rush Rhees Library
The winners of this year's student poetry contest will share their work.

The Poets of Rush Rhees Library
On display through April 15
Seward Room, Rush Rhees Library
The exhibit includes inscribed poetry books and manuscripts from the collection of Brockport poet William Heyen. Hours for the Seward Room are 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
