Aramark now managing dining services
Starbucks, Mediterranean fare among new options
The University has outsourced management of dining operations to the campus services division of Aramark Corp. The transition maintains continuity with the existing University Dining Services program while using Aramark's specialized resources and expertise.
Dining plan options, hours of operation, student employment opportunities, menu choices, phone numbers and even the Dining Services department name will remain the same. A majority of the dining staff also accepted the company's offer of employment extended to the entire dining team, so returning students will see many familiar faces.
Paul Palmer, who has been with Aramark since 1983, has assumed the role of resident district manager for the River and Eastman campuses. Steve Reigle continues to serve as director of dining operations.
Even though Dining Services has made very few programmatic changes over the summer, students will see several new popular concepts and brand names, as well as renovations in the Douglass Food Court and Wilson Commons Snack Bar. Starbucks Coffee will be featured in the Common Ground Coffee House, along with Colombo's granitas and real fruit smoothies. The Nosh Kosher Deli has moved to Douglass, and the breakfast grill returns to Wilson Commons by widespread demand. Students wanting to know more about kosher alternatives may contact Steve at (716) 275-8748.
The debut of the Pan Geos Granary in Danforth Dining Center is one of the most exciting additions to the fall dining program. Experience the exotic flavors of the Mediterranean prepared to order with fresh ingredients. This vegetarian menu platform features entrees made with flatbreads, grains, potatoes, vegetable combinations, pilafs, and rice. For more information on vegetarian dining on campus, contact Denise Paley at (716) 275-3503.
