GuagliardoSince 1992 she had been director of the Office of University Insurance and Risk Management, which oversees all Universitywide programs in liability avoidance and loss prevention, including institutional insurance coverage and workers' compensation administration. She now assumes additional responsibility for the offices of Industrial Hygiene, Fire Marshal, and Sanitarian/Pest Control. Those offices had been the responsibility of the chief of the Office of Environmental Health and Safety, a position now eliminated.
The two other offices formerly supervised by the chief of Environmental Health and Safety have new reporting relations as well, said John Diehl, University counsel and secretary. The University's Radiation Safety Office now will be a part of the Medical Center administration. The Hazardous Waste Management Unit will become a part of University Facilities and Services.
Guagliardo joined the University in 1973 as a nurse, and became risk management coordinator in the Medical Center's Department of Risk Management in 1985. She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Alfred University.
