July 24--Moondance. Celebrate the summer season with one of MAG's biggest parties of the year. Kick back with the cool jazz of Bob DeRosa and the Lunar Rovers and swing the night away with Diana Leigh & Crazy Rhythm. On the front lawn, sway with Joliba to West African pop, traditional drum, and reggae. There also will be a show by EstroFest, an all-woman comedy troupe. Light refreshments included, or purchase cocktails and desserts. 8 p.m.-midnight. For tickets call the gallery at ext. 3510.

July 25--Curators Comment. Candace Adelson, curator of European art, speaks on "Good Wishes from China: The Wanderings of MAG's Taoist Wall Painting." A question-and-answer period follows. Meet in the Asian Gallery, 3 p.m. Free with gallery admission.

Summer Smorgasbord Lectures--Weekly series of five lectures on varied subjects. Pay at the door for individual lectures or register in advance for the entire series. For information call the Creative Workshop at the gallery at ext. 3056. Auditorium, 10:15-11:45 a.m.

Through July 25--John Wenrich: The French Paintings. In the autumn of 1917, a 23-year-old art student named John Wenrich left Rochester for the battlefields of France. After his discharge, he spent several months touring the war-torn countryside and produced a remarkable series of paintings. This exhibition marks the first time since the 1950s that his "French paintings" have been exhibited as a group.

Through August 8--57th Rochester-Finger Lakes Exhibition. Every two years, Rochester's oldest and most prestigious juried exhibition showcases works by emerging artists of the region. Eighty-two works by 79 artists were chosen this year.

Through August 8--Look Homeward: Douglas Gorsline Illustrates Thomas Wolfe. The exhibition includes 62 drawings by Rochester-born artist Douglas Gorsline for his first illustrated book: the 1947 edition of Wolfe's first novel, Look Homeward, Angel. Also included are three drawings for a 1952 edition that targeted the college audience.

Through August 8--Print Club of Rochester Juried Exhibition. The exhibition includes works on paper or fabric by members of the Print Club. Among the techniques represented are etching, engraving, lithography, and silk screening. The juror is Sandra Olsen, director of the Buscaglia-Castellani Art Gallery, Buffalo.

Through October 31--Fabulous Footwear: New Sculpture by Marilyn Gillespie. The 65 trompe l'oeil sculptures survey the history of footwear from 2,500 BCE to the present, from ancient Egypt to Elizabethan England, Imperial China to flapper-era America.

Through July 28--Rochester artist Cinda Kelly is exhibiting three large-scale works. In the exhibit, called "Paper Forms," Kelly has used large sheets of photographic paper, brown wrapping paper, and shiny white paper to create shapes that emphasize the qualities of the materials and their texture. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. (closed Monday, July 5); Saturday, July 10, 24, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

July 16--Fiddle, Fret, and Folk Contra Swing and Folk Dance and Jam Sessions. ESM, Room 120, 8 p.m.

July 17--Fiddle, Fret, and Folk Concert.* Highlight of Eastman's first-ever "Fiddle, Fret, and Folk" weekend, which includes workshops, jam sessions, and other events with some of the world's finest fiddle and fold musicians.
