Shellard joins Simon School admissions

Shellard

S usan Shellard has been appointed associate director of admissions at the Simon School.

Upon making the announcement, Pamela Black-Colton, assistant dean for M.B.A. admissions and administration, commented that Shellard brings "strong experience in administration, admissions and career services, and program marketing and events planning" to her new position.

"As associate director, Susan will function as a senior admissions officer for the Simon School's M.B.A. programs," added Black-Colton. "She will travel both domestically and internationally to recruit and interview the best and brightest students around the world. Her background will be extremely helpful as we assess students' work experience and their potential for post-M.B.A. employment."

In addition to her primary responsibilities, Shellard will serve on the school's Admissions Committee, which makes admissions and financial-aid decisions. She also will assist with the school's annual orientation for new students, as well as with information receptions and other special events.

Prior to her appointment, Shellard was assistant director of M.B.A. career services at Clark University in Worcester, Mass. She has previously worked in admissions at Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vt., and the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut.

A native of Irondequoit, Shellard earned an M.S. degree in counseling/student development in higher education from Central Connecticut State University. She is currently a member of the American Counseling Association and the National Academic Advising Association.
