November 23--Viewpoints. Lucy Durkin, Creative Workshop art history coordinator, speaks on Thomas Cole's Voyage of Life, currently on view in the Print Study Case. Auditorium, 7:30 p.m. Free with gallery admission.

November 30--Viewpoints. The Twelve Corners Klezmer Band performs an hour-long program of song and dance celebrating Lynne Feldman's Good Yontif, currently on view. Auditorium, 7:30 p.m. Admission charged (children 12 and under free).

December 2--Lecture/Slide Show. Influential artist Mary Kelly talks about her 30-year career. 7 p.m. Free and open to the public.

December 3--First Fridays at the MAG. Enjoy live music, hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, and a chance to meet people. Features music by Jump Kings and guitarist John Wiesenthal. 5-8 p.m. Call the gallery at ext. 3035 to reserve a ticket.

November 23 through 2001--About Face: Copley's Portrait of a Colonial Silversmith. In this new interactive installation, families can learn about John Singleton Copley, the most famous portrait painter in Colonial America, and his friend, silversmith Nathaniel Hurd, whom Copley painted. The installation offers a view of life in Colonial Boston. At the Dorothy McBride Gill Education Center.

Through January 9--Crèches from around the World: The Earl Kage Collection. Rochester photographer Earl Kage treats MAG audiences to an exhibit of crèches from his extensive collection. The four dozen examples--from Latin America, Europe, the Far East, and the United States--include eight works that are new to the Kage collection.

Through January 9--Lynne Feldman: Good Yontif. In 1997, Rochester artist Lynne Feldman produced a series of 30 small paintings for a children's book titled Good Yontif: A Picture Book of the Jewish Year. ("Good yontif" is Yiddish for "happy holiday.") Richly patterned and painted in jewel tones, her original paintings for the book depict family celebrations for nine Jewish holidays throughout the year.

Through January 23--Visions of Angels. The exhibition takes a look at one of the 20th century's prevailing visions: the angel. Pictured on everything from watch dials to magazine covers, angels have joined the commercial scene while continuing to play their traditional role in Christian art and theology. Features old favorites, along with some seldom-seen treasures, to celebrate the turning millennium.

Through December 12--Examinations. Elizabeth Stephens, assistant professor of art at the University of California, Santa Cruz, presents a series of video installations exploring technological representations of the body. November 23--The Call of the Jitterbug. The history of the Lindy Hop in Harlem's Savoy Ballroom. (A "Contact Improv" film also will be shown.)

November 30--Daystar: A Bulgarian Odyssey. Native American choreographer Rosalie Jones works with young folk dancers in Bulgaria.

CPR Classes--Offered by the Multidiscipline Laboratories through December. To register and for more information call x5-3285 as soon as possible, as classes fill up quickly. Written by Stephen Jeffreys, this contemporary satire deals with the Earl of Rochester, a notorious rake considered by many to be one of the most fascinating and contradictory men of the 17th century. December 1--Serbia, Kosovo, and the NATO World Order. Svetozar Stojanovic, a leader in the Serbian opposition movement, speaks on the state of Slobodan Milosevic's hold on power, the effect of the NATO bombing on the opposition movement, and lessons learned.
