Career Center helps to find your calling
T he Career Center has a few events in the coming months that can help students explore a variety of career paths.
During Homecoming, the Career Center and Alumni Relations co-host a series of panel discussions called "Thinking Outside of the Box" featuring alumni from a variety of career fields. Students will have the opportunity to explore career paths and learn about the success of alumni. This event takes place on Saturday, September 25, 9 a.m. to noon, in Wilson Commons. Look for details around campus or contact the Career Center, x5-2366 (275-2366).
"UR Connected" programs--in three venues--are scheduled for October of this year and January 2000. They include morning career forums with alumni career field representatives and corporate representatives interacting informally with juniors and seniors. After a networking luncheon, students interview with selected employers for internship and post-baccalaureate opportunities. "UR Connected" will take place in New York City on Friday, October 29; in Boston on Friday, January 7; and in Washington, D.C., on Monday, January 10.
Students interested in working on campus are encouraged to check out www.rochester.edu/careercenter/seo. This Web site gives previews of the many job opportunities available this fall. For more information call x5-2138 (275-2138).
