Effective February 1, the Copy Center Services offered throughout the University will be managed by Xerox Business Solutions. XBS is one of five major divisions of Xerox Corp. and has been in document-management services since 1956. Nationally, XBS provides services to more than 4,000 clients, including colleges, universities, and hospitals. We are excited about the potential opportunities that are envisioned as a result of this action.

The decision to reach a partnership with XBS was undertaken after careful consideration of the University's own capabilities to maintain and improve on the variety of complex copy and duplicating demands at our institution, and after a thorough analysis of proposals from multiple vendors. The Xerox proposal offered the greatest opportunity at the best price for University departments.

The majority of our current staff has pursued employment opportunities with Xerox and will continue to work at our Copy Center locations.

Please note that the Graphics Department located in the Medical Center will continue as a University department. They are not affected by the Copy Center Services change.

I know that you will see the long-term benefits of this move, and in the short term I hope you will be patient as we move through this transitional time.

The telephone numbers, locations, and processes in place will not be changing in the foreseeable future. Therefore, if you have questions or concerns regarding any copy service, you are encouraged to contact the center with which you normally work.
