CRASH AND LEARN--Associate Professor of Physics Frank Wolfs recently gave the students in his "Physics by Inquiry" class a chance to tackle their subject matter head-on. They strapped four aluminum soda cans to the bumpers of makeshift go-carts and drove them into each other on the Eastman Quad. The object was not so much to survive the three-mile-per-hour crash as it was to predict how the cans would take the impact.
