JUMPING FOR JOY--Wilson Day 2000, held on September 1, marked the 12th year that freshmen, faculty, and staff headed off campus to assist local nonprofit organizations on an array of projects. Here, freshman Kathy Gagne supervises some jump-roping fun at the Boys and Girls Club of Rochester. Some 1,100 people volunteered at 60 sites for the community service day this year. The theme for 2000 was "The Many Faces of Service," which accentuated three key concepts: the ways Rochester students, faculty, and staff can give back to their community; the personal interaction and fulfillment that service to the community provides; and the diverse needs for service.
