Note Sesqui parking, traffic info.
here will be no disruption to staff parking on the River Campus and at the Medical Center during Sesquicentennial Weekend. However, following is some important information that will help those staff members who will be attending weekend events:
- The Information Booth on Wilson Boulevard will be open 7 a.m.-11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
- Parking for Thursday's Medical Center events will be at the River Road Laboratory (St. Agnes High School) with constant shuttling to the Medical Center 7 a.m.-7 p.m. A transportation help desk will be open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday in the lobby of the Medical Research Building.
- College classes will end at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. There will be open parking on the River Campus after 10:30 a.m. and for the rest of the weekend.
- Ticketing for parking in fire lanes will be strictly observed.
- Those driving to the River Campus for Sesquicentennial Weekend events should enter at the Elmwood Avenue entrance.
- Rochester police will control the Elmwood Avenue/Wilson Boulevard intersection 8 a.m.-noon and 4-8 p.m. on Friday to avoid traffic delays.
- After participants enter the River Campus, parking staff and signs will direct them to open lots. If parking lots on campus fill up, people will be directed to South Campus or Medical Center lots. Parking representatives also will direct traffic at various locations on campus.
- Shuttle service will be provided to and from off-campus lots 7 a.m.-7 p.m. There will be signs directing people to shuttle stops and events.
- Some of the lots on campus will have reserved parking spaces for special activities throughout the weekend.
- Participants with handicap parking permits will be able to park in Library Lot on the River Campus. Those people driving individuals with special mobility needs but without handicap permits should drive to Meliora Lot to drop off their passengers, who will then be greeted by staff with golf carts; the driver should park in the nearest available lot.
- Wilson Boulevard will be opened for one-way traffic (going north) on Friday and Saturday, and Hutchison Road will be opened for through traffic during the weekend.
- A transportation help desk will be open 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday and 7 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday in the lobby of CLARC in Rush Rhees Library. Call x5-RIDE for further transportation information.
