Investment sessions offer financial help
he Benefits Office is presenting a series of investment educational sessions in October and November that will help staff to plan for their financial future. The speakers consist of representatives from four investment companies: TIAA-CREF, T. Rowe Price, Vanguard, and Fidelity. Staff may attend any or all of the following sessions:
- "Fundamentals of Investing: Making the Most of Your Retirement Plan" will be held the week of October 16. These sessions are designed to provide fundamental information about investing, such as how to choose an allocation and the benefits of tax-deferral.
- "Keeping Investing Simple: What You Need to Know" will be held the week of October 23. These sessions are designed to provide intermediate-level information about investing, such as asset allocation and rebalancing.
- "Fine-Tuning Your Retirement Portfolio: A Case for Blending Sub-Asset Classes" will be held the week of October 30. These sessions are designed to provide advanced-level information about investing, such as sub-asset allocation and market indices.
- "Retirement in View" will be held the week of November 6. These sessions are designed for individuals who are within 10 years of retirement. The presentations review retirement lifestyles and financial considerations.
These sessions will be held at various locations at the Medical Center, River Campus, Eastman School, and the Laboratory for Laser Energetics. Staff should refer to the invitation recently mailed to their homes for specific dates and times, or call x5-4667 for more information.
