Nursing school implements new strategy
Although College students can no longer transfer to the traditional bachelor's degree program (the last class will graduate in May 2002), the school is still offering a bachelor's degree in nursing with the admission requirement of an R.N. license. An associate's degree in nursing is the minimum preparation for obtaining a license. There are 3+1 programs that the school has developed with local community colleges in which students complete an associate's degree in nursing and then, at the School of Nursing, complete the bachelor's degree requirements. For those who wish to pursue advanced degrees, the School of Nursing offers six master's degree programs and a doctoral program that is one of the oldest in the nation.
