Yellowjackets present concert

The Yellowjackets will perform some of their most popular hits as well as songs from their latest album, Visions, at 8 p.m. Saturday, February 10, in Strong Auditorium on the River Campus.

The group recently was chosen to perform "Now and Forever" for the compilation CD Best of Collegiate A Cappella 2001, featuring hits from selected collegiate a cappella groups from around the country.

Tickets for the performance are $5 and will be available at the door. Tickets also are on sale at the Common Market in Wilson Commons. Contact the College music department at x5-2828 at least five days in advance to request any special accommodations.

Pan-African Exposition set

The 17th annual Pan-African Exposition, sponsored by the Black Students' Union, celebrates African culture with an array of activities on Saturday, February 17, in Wilson Commons on the River Campus.

The theme is "Mirrors of Our Past . . . Windows to the Future."

The day's events include a display of the McDaniel Secret Quilt Code Museum Exhibit. The exhibit shows how, during the Civil War, quilts were used to help slaves escape from southern plantations into free states using the Underground Railroad.

The exhibit and lecture will be presented at 1:30 p.m. Events also include a trivia game show at 2:45 p.m. and a talent show at 4:30 p.m.

Chamber Orchestra performs

The University Chamber Orchestra will give a performance at 8 p.m. Saturday, February 24, in Strong Auditorium on the River Campus.

David Harman, director of orchestral activities and professor of music at the University, will conduct the orchestra in works that include Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin, Kodaly's Galanta Dances, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 2.

The concert is free and open to the public. Contact the College music department at x5-2828 at least five days in advance to request any special accommodations.
