RE:2001 United Way Campaign

Jackson
Jackson

The annual United Way Campaign is a simple, yet critical, way for the University community to make a big difference in the life of Rochester and the people who make it their home. By working together we can offer deserved financial support to programs and agencies on which all of us rely. I am honored to chair this important effort.

The 2001 campaign is again highlighting five priority "impact areas": Success by 6, Kids on Track, Strengthening Families, Helping Seniors, and Overcoming Disabilities. Last year the University community raised $715,000 in our most successful campaign yet. The need for United Way programs is just as real in 2001, and our contributions are returned manyfold in benefits to our community, including benefits administered by University affiliated programs.

Faculty and staff will soon receive information about making a donation to United Way. Thanks to all of you who have pledged in past campaigns, and I hope you will renew your commitment this year. If you have not contributed in previous years, please consider doing so this year. The decision is a personal one, but remember that you can decide, through the Donor Option Program, exactly where your gift will go.

United Way

The number of University community members who contribute is just as important as the dollars raised, so I urge each of you to think about making a contribution when you receive your packet of United Way materials.
