Pinckney joins diversity effort
obias Pinckney has joined the Provost's Office to assist senior administrators in diversity initiatives.
Provost Charles E. Phelps said that Pinckney, as a new associate provost, will "review policies, procedures, and programs, and provide comparison benchmark data to help us further our diversity goals." A small working group of administrators, including President Jackson and Phelps, meets regularly to discuss diversity issues. "Pinckney will serve as staff to that group, and I am delighted with the perspective he will bring to our coordinating efforts," Phelps said. Pinckney, who graduated from the University of Delaware and earned a law degree from the University of Chicago, is now pursuing a divinity degree at Colgate-Rochester Divinity School. He has worked at the Journal of Legal Studies and the Journal of Law and Economics at the University of Chicago; as a summer associate at the Office of Civil Rights for the U.S. Department of Education; and as a Woodrow Wilson Scholar in policy analysis at Princeton University.
